Let's start by introducing yourself, tell us a little about you.

My name is Kemiya Robbins I’m 27 years old and a mommy of 4 beautiful babies; 2 boys, and 2 girls.

When did you start your doll collection?

I started making dolls last year July a month before my second daughter was born. I officially launched January 28th of this year on my first daughter’s birthday.

What inspired you to create these fun dolls for little girls?

The inspiration behind the dolls are my beautiful daughters Kirrah and Kalani. Hence the name Kirrah and Kalani Dolls lol. I’ve always heard from friends, family, and strangers how much my girls look like little dolls. With their larger than life eyes, little button noses, and adorable smiles. I wanted to share that with the world and create something for every beautiful little girl.

These dolls are super cute which one is your favorite?

That’s a good question lol. Honestly every time I create a doll it becomes a new favorite. But what I can say is that the emoji doll was probably the one that my daughter liked the most.

Can you share some of the challenges of starting a business?

Some of the challenges of starting a business is TIME, and BALANCE. When you’re a full-time mom of 4, a wife, and so much more starting a business can become very time consuming. The reality is you wake up exhausted after getting a few hours of sleep. It really takes a disciplined, focused, and determined individual to run a business.

What are some of your future goals for the doll collection?

My goal is for Kirrah & Kalani dolls to become a brand...a household name. I am also determined to have a small boutique where mommies will be able to shop for merchandise with their daughters.

What advice do you have for someone looking to start a business while juggling mom life?

My advice to moms wanting to start a business is to remember organization and balance is key. Create a schedule! You must put in hard work for your business to succeed but you're still a mommy first! When the kids are napping or in school it’s the perfect time to work on your business without interruption. Just remember to keep telling yourself you got this! It can be done!
